Albion head coach slams 'ridiculous' transfer window
TONY Pulis clarified the reasons for Saido Berahino's absence from today's game against Chelsea.
The striker was not selected for the squad, with Pulis blaming the 'ridiculous' transfer window for unsettling the player.
Speaking after the match, Pulis said: "Why are we talking about Saido today? We are talking about Saido because of the transfer window. It's absolutely ridiculous. Everyone here should be talking about the game.
"Saido is a great lad but this has been disruptive. He's fine, there are no problems...but this is the transfer window, so there are problems.
"Why we can't have a system where the window closes before the season starts, I don't know.
"The lad is young, he needs to be protected but there is a lot going on in his mind, a lot is being said...it's not just one club, but about 15 clubs.
"Nobody should have this problem - the season has started, get on with the football. That's how it should be."
