Forward made Albion debut at Vicarage Road
TONY Pulis is confident Albion fans will take to Club-record signing Salomon Rondon, after the striker made his debut in the goalless draw at Watford.
The Venezuela international replaced Craig Gardner in the 62nd minute at Vicarage Road.
Rondon had the chance to mark his Baggies bow with a goal, only for his powerful effort to narrowly evade the crossbar.
Pulis admits the new man needs to increase his fitness levels, but was pleased to see glimpses of what the £12m forward is capable of.
He said: “He needs fitness more than anything.
“I thought he was very bright when he came on.
“When we introduced him we had a different threat and he helped us get more on the front foot.
“I think the fans will take to him.
“We saw glimpses of what he can do – he is strong and very powerful.”
