Winger discusses several Albion matters
CALLUM McManaman spoke after Sunday’s 3-2 defeat to champions Chelsea in the Barclays Premier League.
Here is what he had to say…
On the game
I think we played really well and matched Chelsea.
It’s pleasing to know we played so well against the champions.
We caused them plenty of problems before and after the red card.
I think we gave them too much of a head start.
If you let in three goals in any game it’s going to cost you points but you just can’t do that against Chelsea, it killed us in the first-half.
We shut up shop in the second-half and defended better as a team.
We looked really dangerous going forward so hopefully we can take that to Stoke next week.
On his own performance
I’m feeling very good at the moment.
I feel fit and sharp which is pleasing considering I missed parts of last season through injury.
I was obviously disappointed not to start the first two games but I was happy to play.
I was happy with my performance and hopefully with a run in the side now, I will be able to keep that level up.
On the team gelling together
The squad is gelling together really well.
I think once we have got ourselves sorted defensively as a team that will help massively.
We showed today that we are good on the attack so there is plenty to look forward to.
The new players have come in and settled really well which is obviously great for us.
On finding the first win
I think once we find our first win, we will go on a run and win a few games.
We showed today that we can compete with the better teams in this league and that gives us plenty of confidence.
We obviously want to get points on the board as quickly as we can.
