Bradley’s stunner hands Under-18s win at Newcastle

17 August 2015

Baggies remain unbeaten this season

ALEX Bradley’s spectacular strike after just three minutes gave Albion’s youngsters a 1-0 over Newcastle on Saturday in the Barclays U18 Premier League.

The midfielder picked up the ball 30-yards from goal, before unleashing a thunderous shot which flew into the top corner.

The Baggies had a number of great chances on the break to increase their lead, but we unable to take any of them.

James Smith was sent-off late on after receiving a second yellow, but Aaron Danks’ men hung on to claim their first win of the season.

“We are really pleased with the result,” said the Under-18 boss.

“It wasn’t our most fluid performance, we didn’t really get into our rhythm.

“The boys had to really dig in and defend well.

“To go away from home and grab an early goal and then hold on to the lead was fantastic.”

ALBION: Hall, Sweeney (Dool 55), Piggott, Barbir, Melbourne, R.Nabi, Bradley (Meredith 16), Field, Soleman, Scrivens (Harper 90), Smith.

Unused subs: House, Morrison.
