The day Albion took on an all-black team
IMAGINE if, next week, an all-white Premier League XI took on an all-black Premier League XI.
You can hear the outcry can’t you?
But 1979 was a very different world and when Len Cantello was arranging his testimonial, the idea of Albion taking on an all-black side spearheaded by our own Cyrille Regis, Laurie Cunningham, Brendon Batson and Remi Moses seemed a winning novelty.
Some 36 years on, Albion fan Adrian Chiles and TV producer Caj Sohal are looking at that game and what it says about football - and Britain - then and now, for a TV programme scheduled for next year.
And they want your help.
If you were at that game, or simply remember the days when it took place and their impact on you, they want to hear from you.
Simply email them at firstname.lastname@example.org and they will be in touch.
And if you want to jog your memory about that game and what it represented, take a listen to Albion Radio, in conversation with Caj Sohal.
