R9, Premier League medals, Go Karting and much more
IT was the turn of our double title-winning England international, Joleon Lescott, to face the questions this week.
So, Joleon, what is your favourite…?
Moment in football?
Winning the Premier League for the first time with Manchester City in 2011/12.
Goal you have ever scored?
My first and only goal for England in Euro 2012 against France.
Goal you have ever seen?
Zinedine Zidane’s volley against Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League Final. What a strike!
Game that you have been involved in?
I’m not sure how this is going to go down, the play-off final with Wolves in 2003.
Player of all time?
Ronaldo, R9, the one from Brazil.
Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena. I have played there a few times and the atmosphere is unreal, the fans just do not stop singing.
Pair of boots?
I have got to go with my first pair, Puma Gascoigne’s. That was a long time ago, I think I would have been about seven.
World Cup memory?
The 1990 World Cup in Italy is the first one I really remember watching. I really started taking notice of football during that tournament.
Childhood memory of football?
Being a goalkeeper actually! My brother was a striker so he always made me go in goal.
Just being able to play outside with the kids from my area and not being stuck indoors. Sadly, not many kids do that these days.
Lesson at school?
Either a strawberry milkshake or Ribena.
I love Caribbean food, it’s amazing.
There is a Caribbean restaurant called Bings in town which I use quite a lot.
Oh that’s a tough one. Twix.
Dubai, I have been there a few times.
The Friday films. Brilliant comedy.
Sport other than football?
Go Karting. I really enjoy it actually. The whole squad went a few weeks ago, Gards organised it all. It was blatantly a set-up because he won and I only came second.
Person at the club to play a prank on?
I don’t really do pranks that isn’t really my role. Although, the last few days we have been winding James Morrison up. He is normally the prankster so to see him nibble is quite entertaining.
FIFA 15. I play on it all the time. I have been told that Darren Moore and Saido have both said that they are the best at the club. Mooro shouldn’t even be on computers and Saido is the worst. The only person who could challenge me is Victor. He is decent, I have played him in the past but I am better.
Piece of advice you have ever been given?
Keith Downing, my Youth Team coach at Wolves always used to say don’t leave the field with any regrets.
Thing to do to relax away from football?
Chill with the family really and play FIFA.
Lollipop by Lil Wayne.
A Rolls-Royce Ghost.
Foreign football team?
LA Galaxy. I have a few mates that play for them and I love LA, it is my favourite city.
And finally… your favourite moment in an Albion top?
I would probably have to say my debut at Spurs. It was our first win of the season too so that was nice.
