U18s suffer narrow defeat

Albion youngsters fall at Fulham

ALBION fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat at Fulham in the Barclays Under-18 Premier League on Saturday.

A goal from the hosts in the 14th minute was enough to send the Baggies home from the capital with nothing to show for their efforts.

Under-18s Lead Development Phase Coach Aaron Danks admitted he was disappointed with the result, but says his side can take a lot of positives from their performance.

“It was another good challenge against Fulham,” Danks said.

“They are a good side managed by Kevin Keen, so it was good to catch up with him.

“I was pleased with the performance and the work-ethic.

“There were a few little mistakes for their goal, but we had lots of clear-cut chances ourselves so we probably should have got something from the game.

“Although I was disappointed with the result, there are a lot of positives to take.”
