Foster feels hard done by

Definitely no penalty says keeper (FREE VIDEO)

BEN Foster was left stunned by the contentious penalty decision which proved the crucial turning point in Albion’s 2-0 defeat at Hull.

With the clash finely poised after half an hour, Shane Long went to ground in the penalty area under minimal, if any, contact from Craig Dawson – goalkeeper Foster duly saved Nikica Jelavic’s subsequent spot-kick but Liam Rosenior was on hand to convert the rebound.

Former Albion marksman Long doubled the hosts’ advantage soon after and the Baggies never managed to recover.

Foster, who was also on the wrong end of a controversial penalty verdict in last month’s 3-1 defeat at Crystal Palace, said: “I can’t believe it was given to be honest.

“I haven’t seen a replay but from where I was standing, maybe 12 foot away, I couldn’t believe it.

“It happened at Palace a few weeks back as well.

“No penalty, definitely no penalty. It’s a big point in the game, it completely changes the look of the game.

“We feel very, very hard done by again.”

Foster added: “It’s hard to respond (after that), especially coming to Hull. They know exactly what they’re doing when you go a goal down to them. It’s really hard to get back into the game, they’re more than happy to sit back and try to get you to get through them, which is really hard.

“It was a massive, massive point in the game. We’re gutted about it, absolutely gutted.”
