NEWLY-appointed Head Coach Alan Irvine has set out his vision for the style of play he wants his Albion team to deliver in the Barclays Premier League.

Irvine, 55, agreed a deal to become the club’s new man in charge over the weekend.

And speaking in his first video interview since his appointment, the Scot gave Baggies fans an insight into the approach he hopes to roll out at The Hawthorns next season.

“I’m a purist, I like attractive football,” he said.

“I like my teams to control the game, control the tempo of the game and have possession of the ball.

“But I’m also a realist and I realise that the most important thing for the club and the most important thing for the fans is that we win.

“So I would expect there will be different tactics being used for different games, different systems, different strategies and these are all things that can be worked at on the training ground.”
