Albion v Everton - team news

Mel makes four changes - two enforced

ZOLTAN Gera is handed his first start in four league games as new boss Pepe Mel names his first Albion XI.

Gareth McAuley misses out due to a hamstring injury he suffered against Southampton nine days ago, with Diego Lugano drafted in to partner Jones Olsson in central defence.

Mel makes four changes in total to the side that lost 1-0 against the Saints, with Claudio Yacob and Matej Vydra earning recalls.

The other men to make way are benched duo Youssouf Mulumbu and Morgan Amalfitano, and Shane Long, following his departure for Hull.

Chris Brunt captains the side against the Toffees, while Victor Anichebe is named among the substitutes against his former club.

Roberto Martinez makes two changes to the Toffees team that beat Norwich 2-0 last time out.

Sylvain Distin and Bryan Oviedo are the men to come in.

John Stones drops to the bench, while Steven Pienaar misses out altogether.

Last season's Baggies loan star Romelu Lukaku starts for the visitors on his first return to The Hawthorns.
