Anichebe ready for Spanish workout

Striker targets bottom-half victory on return from training camp

VICTOR Anichebe believes Albion's warm-weather training camp in Spain will provide the best possible preparation for their crucial Hawthorns clash with Fulham on Saturday week (ko 3pm).

The Baggies today fly to Jerez in the southern region of Andalucía for six days, after Tuesday's 1-1 draw with Chelsea brought them their 14th point against top-ten opposition this season.

But, on their return from Pepe Mel's homeland, the 6ft3in striker has called on his team-mates to improve on their ten-point haul from bottom-half clubs - starting with the Cottagers - if they are to secure Barclays Premier League survival.

“It will be nice to get together for a few days but it is not like we’re going for a jolly-up or anything," said Anichebe.

“We’ll go there to work because we’ve got a really important game coming up against Fulham.

“We need to start picking up three points from the games against the teams around us in the table.

“We’ll both rest and work hard out there and be ready for the next game when we get back.”
