Travel advice for fans ahead of West Ham clash

Fans advised to arrive early for Hammers match

ALBION are once again urging fans to make extra time for their journey to tomorrow night’s home encounter against West Ham (8pm ko).

The traffic congestion around Junction 1 of the M5 and the Birmingham Road is causing increasing problems for supporters.

Now the authorities are warning that the congestion is likely to be even worse because of the Christmas shopping season.

“The traffic congestion around night games tends to be greater but the Highways Agency are telling us that now we are into the Christmas season it is likely to be even more marked,” says Mark Miles, the club’s head of facilities operation and development.

“We cannot stress enough to our supporters to make extra time for their journey and to get to the game early if at all possible.”

Meanwhile, starting tomorrow, the Hawthorns Express coach service will be departing 30 minutes earlier than usual for matches which kick-off at 8pm.
