Late Oldnall strike in vain for Baggies

ALBION fell to a 2-1 reverse at home to Sunderland in the Barclays Under-18 Premier League on Saturday.

The hosts went 1-0 down to a deflected shot but gradually grew into the encounter as the first half wore on, Tavhon Campbell off target with a chance from Jack Hallahan's cross.

Albion dominated possession in the second period and looked strong from set-pieces, however they fell further behind following a well-taken finish.

Ged Oldnall (pictured) gave the hosts hope five minutes from time with a looping header from Rees Wedderburn's corner but it was not to be as Sunderland ran out victors.

ALBION: Ross, Ezewelle, Smart, Pace, Gregory, Jones, Leko, Wedderburn, Campbell (Oldnall), Barrow (Cater), Hallahan (Gannon).
