Duo going nowhere for now

Berahino and Dawson in Clarke's plans for 'foreseeable future'

STEVE Clarke has told would-be Championship suitors Saido Berahino and Craig Dawson will not be going anywhere for the ‘foreseeable future’.

Both enjoyed successful loan spells at Peterborough and Bolton respectively last season.

But Berahino has made a flying start to the season for the Baggies and on the international scene with England Under-21s to force his way into Clarke’s plans.

While the Albion chief has challenged Dawson to push first-choice centre-half pairing Jonas Olsson and Gareth McAuley even harder this term.

“Everybody in the Championship would take Dawson and Berahino,” he said.

“I’ve been inundated with calls for both of them.

“They are not going out because I like them and they’re my players.

“For the foreseeable future they are not going out, of course that could change depending on circumstances - but at the moment there are no plans to let either out."
