Top 10 Most Prolific Goalscorers

Record-breaking skipper begins our countdown

TO mark 125 years of Albion’s involvement in league football wba.co.uk is counting down the club’s all-time top ten most prolific goalscorers.

At number ten is Tommy Glidden who scored 135 goals in 445 appearances for the Throstles between 1922 and 1936.

In 1931, the right-winger became the first, and, to this day, only man to captain a side to both promotion and an FA Cup triumph in the same season. He scored 16 goals that season, including the only goal of the FA Cup semi-final with Everton.

At the end of his playing career, he served the club as a coach and then as a director, maintaining an association with the Albion that lasted more than half a century.

Tomorrow we will reveal number nine in the countdown of Albion’s top-ten most prolific goalscorers.

To qualify for the prestigious top ten, players must have scored at least 100 league goals for the Baggies.

The list is then sorted by goal ratio (goals scored divided by appearances).
