Dorrans set to stay with Baggies

Boss understands midfielder's frustrations

STEVE Clarke has confirmed interest from Championship clubs for Graham Dorrans – but expects him to still be at Albion when the emergency loan window closes later today.

The Scotland midfielder has been restricted to three Barclays Premier League appearances so far this term.

But the Hawthorns boss insists he could still have a big part to play for the Baggies this season – likening the situation to the same time last year.

“There have been a couple of enquiries from Championship clubs,” said Clarke.

“But I don’t think Graham will be leaving.

“I’ve had a brief chat with him his morning.

“I’ve had a number of chats with him over the last few weeks.

“He’s frustrated that he’s not playing and I understand his frustration.

“But the way he’s worked and trained is a credit to himself.

“As long as he continues like that and continues working for us I still think he’s got a chance to play in this team.

“At the moment it’s not going for him here.

“But there are lots of games coming up and, with suspensions and injuries, things can change very quickly in football, as Graham knows.

“He was in a similar situation last December and it changed quite quickly for him and he ended up playing a big part in Albion’s season.

“Things can change.

“I’ve got no complaints about Graham; all he wants to do is play football.”
