Brunt wants to put things right against champions
CHRIS Brunt hopes Albion can make amends for their 4-0 defeat at Norwich when they host champions Manchester United on Sunday (ko 4pm).
The Baggies were backed by 2,400 travelling supporters at Carrow Road – but fell to their heaviest loss of the campaign.
And the Northern Ireland international insists his colleagues will be doing their upmost to put on a show for the club’s fans when Sir Alex Ferguson and his side arrive at The Hawthorns this weekend.
“All we can do now is move on and hopefully put it right by giving a good account of ourselves against United,” said Brunt.
“The fans travelled to Norwich in party mood and dressed up for the last away game of the season.
“To put on a performance like that wasn’t on from us.
“You expect to have bad days but we didn’t do enough to help each other out.
“Over the last two or three seasons, we have dug deep and battled for each other.
“That’s been a big characteristic of ours.
“We’re a good, honest set of lads.
“We normally work hard for each other but we let each other down on Sunday."
Brunt paid tribute to the club’s ‘tremendous’ away following who have travelled the length and breadth of the country this season.
“We’ve had tremendous backing all season and Sunday summed it up,” Brunt added.
“At the end of the game, a lot of the lads went to give their shirts to the fans.
“It was the least we could do.”
