SCA Ladies have target in sight

Lawrence's side prepare to visit Blackburn

SPORTING Club Albion Ladies could get back on course with manager Dave Lawrence’s top-four target if they win at Blackburn on Sunday (ko 2pm).

And he is hoping they can beat Rovers on the back of last weekend’s 4-2 win over Derby and build some momentum for the FA Women’s Premier League run-in.

“I was very pleased we picked up maximum points last week, as it allowed us to regain focus on our targets in the league, and gave us confidence after a difficult two weeks,” said Lawrence.

“Our attacking play was excellent, we counter-attacked well, and were capable of creating opportunities at will.”

Sunday’s opponents are also currently mid-table, and Lawrence is expecting a difficult game.

“Blackburn have a talented and athletic group of players,” he added.

“We know we will have to defend well in key areas of the pitch, and attack with purpose and creativity.”
