Boss provides Dorrans injury update

Clarke explains exactly why midfielder missed Stoke trip

STEVE Clarke has revealed Graham Dorrans was forced to miss today’s goalless draw at Stoke due to a slight calf strain.

The Scotland international, who has started seven of the Baggies’ last eight Barclays Premier League games, picked up the injury in last weekend’s 2-1 win over Swansea.

Dorrans is still expected to report for his country’s World Cup qualifiers against Wales on Friday and Serbia four days later.

And Clarke has given him an outside chance of being fit for the second Group A game, meaning he should be available for the Baggies’ next match at West Ham on Saturday, March 30 (ko 3pm).

“Graham picked up a slight calf strain last week and we decided not to risk him,” said the Albion chief.

“He’s been called up for Scotland and I would expect him to report there.

“I wouldn’t expect him to be involved in the first game but have an outside chance of being involved in the second game, which means he should be available for us at West Ham.”
