The Baggies prepare for Sunderland

SPORTING Club Albion Ladies are offering free entry to all supporters for their FA Women’s Cup fourth-round tie with reigning Premier League champions Sunderland at Halesowen Town FC on Sunday (ko 1pm).

The Baggies will take on the Black Cats less than 24 hours after their male counterparts battle it out at The Hawthorns on Saturday.

Sunderland Women travel to the Black Country sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League’s National Division and unbeaten since October 2011.

However, the Baggies have won their last five matches, including last Sunday’s Birmingham County Cup semi-final clash at Wolves.

But ladies manager Dave Lawrence knows his side will need to pull something extra special out of the bag to overcome Sunday’s opponents.

“I go into each game being confident; we are a team that is reliant on excellent preparation and good training sessions,” said Lawrence.

“There have been a lot of people who have come down in the past and been surprised at how good the girls are and how physical the games are.

“It turns into a really fun family orientated afternoon.”
