Zoopla's Golden Goals with a difference

Local charities again set to benefit from Principal Sponsor's generosity

LAST season Albion's Principal Sponsor Zoopla launched its Golden Goals initiative, pledging to donate £1,000 to local Midlands charities every time Steve Clarke's men scored during the 2012/13 top-flight campaign.

As a result of the Baggies' most successful Barclays Premier League season ever, Zoopla donated £53,000 to local charities at the end of the season.

This year, Zoopla are again committing to support a variety of local charities through its Golden Goals – but with a difference!

Like last season Zoopla will donate £1,000 to charity for each goal scored by Albion in the Barclays Premier League - home and away - but this year each Baggies player will represent one of the club’s nominated charities that will benefit directly if they score.

For each goal scored, Zoopla will donate £500 to the goalscorer's nominated charity and £500 to The Albion Foundation.

Players and their nominated charities for the 2013/14 season:

Sandwell Special Olympics – Jonas Olsson, Matej Vydra, Billy Jones, Craig Dawson, Zoltan Gera, Amalfitano
Autism West Midlands – Steven Reid, Diego Lugano, Scott Sinclair, Nicolas Anelka
Sandwell Women’s Aid – Goran Popov, James Morrison, George Thorne, Graham Dorrans, Anichebe
St.Mary’s Hospice – Liam Ridgewell, Shane Long, Gareth McAuley, Saido Berahino
Age Concern, Sandwell – Claudio Yacob, Markus Rosenberg, Chris Brunt, Youssouf Mulumbu, Stephane Sessegnon

Last season the local charities that benefited from the Golden Goals were The Albion Foundation, Ideal for All, Krunch, Compton Hospice, CLIC Sargent and Macmillan.

So, the more the Baggies score, the more Zoopla will donate!
