Shan's side pick up valuable point against the Gunners

ALBION Under-18s bounced back from four straight defeats to earn a hard-fought 0-0 draw at Arsenal on Friday.

The Baggies started the season with an impressive 1-0 victory at Everton but have failed to pick up a point since – conceding 11 goals in the process.

And lead professional development coach James Shan is pleased his side showed the mettle to fight against the odds for a point at London Colney.

“I’m happy with the performance and keep a clean sheet against a side with the quality of Arsenal is a massive step in the right direction,” said Shan.

“Arsenal are a good side, with players from all over the world, and they have had a very good start to the season.

“It’s good to end our run of defeats and to not concede against a top side shows that we are heading in the right direction and the lads should be proud of themselves.”
