Baggies earn third win of the campaign in Norfolk

ALBION recorded a 4-3 victory at bottom-placed Norwich in the Barclays Under-18 Premier League on Saturday.

Ged Oldnal (pictured) fired a double, while goals from Aaron Birch and Alex Jones helped earn the Baggies a deserved three points on the road.

But lead development coach James Shan was disappointed his side made hard work of what should have been a comfortable away win.

“It shouldn’t have been a 4-3 game and we created more than enough chances, while also dominating possession, to comfortably win the game,” he said.

“If we’d have won the game 4-1 then we might have come away from the game thinking it’s not a great performance but we’ve come away well on top.

“We lacked discipline and concentration and, in the finish, the game was too close and too tight in terms of the score.

“It’s our aim now to earn enough points to make sure we are competing in the middle tier after Christmas when the league splits.

“It’s possible with positive results that we could go fifth, fourth, or, even third in the next couple of weeks.

“Our objective is to finish a minimum of fifth.”
