Interesting facts

Steve Clarke’s men travel to the Liberty Stadium in search of their fifth successive Barclays Premier League victory – a feat not achieved in the top flight since Ron Atkinson’s outfit beat Middlesbrough, Wolves, Arsenal, Manchester United and Bristol City in the 1978/79 season.

Victory over Sunderland on Saturday saw the Baggies claim their best start to a top-flight campaign, with 13 games played, since 1953/54.

Chris Brunt became Albion’s all-time Barclays Premier League appearance maker on Saturday – eclipsing Jonathan Greening’s 106 appearances.

Albion beat Swansea in the Old Division Two play-off semi-finals 3-2 on aggregate in May 1993.

The Baggies did not record 26 points until the first week in February last term and it took Albion 25 games to record eight wins – a figure they have reached in only 13 fixtures this season.
