Gera and Foster both to start Oakwell friendly

ZOLTAN Gera will make his first start in eight months in Albion’s first ‘public’ friendly of the summer on English soil at Oakwell this afternoon (ko 3pm).


The Hungary international made his eagerly-awaited comeback from a knee injury as a second-half sub at Copenhagen on Wednesday and is in from the off at the Championship outfit.


Gera partners Shane Long in attack, with the Republic of Ireland international also making his first start of pre-season.


Ben Foster is set to make his first appearance since rejoining Albion on a permanent basis after shaking off a couple of niggling injuries.


In a late change to the squad, Kemar Roofe replaces Simon Cox.


BARNSLEY (4-3-3): Alnwick; Stones, S Foster, McNulty, Wiseman; Digby, Dawson, O’Brien; Mellis,  Dagnall, Etuhu. Subs: Silva, Mido, Done, Perkins, Edwards, Martin, Trialist 


ALBION (4-4-1-1): Foster; Jara Reyes, Tamas, Olsson (c), Jones; Hurst, Morrison, Dorrans, Thomas; Gera; Long. Subs: Myhill (gk), Gayle, Allan, Berahino, Roofe, El Ghanassy, Mantom, Thorne.
