Player Development Centres

The Albion Foundation's player pathway is in place to provide opportunities for gifted and talented individuals to progress, train and develop at a higher level.

They recognise talented individuals from participants in their Premier League Primary Stars programme, as well as from half-term soccer camps, Baggies Soccer Centres, or open trials.

The charity aims to develop footballers, allowing them to progress through their pathway.

The Tier 2 Player Development Centres are in operation at numerous top class facilities across Sandwell, Birmingham, the Black Country and Worcestershire with three Tier 1 Player Development Academies running for players to progress further.

Participants train once a week at the PDC/PDA centres, following a training syllabus designed to encapsulate both the WBA Academy's syllabus and philosophies, as well as holistic player development in line with the FA's Four Corner Model.

The system is designed to complement local grassroots football clubs, as opposed to work against them.

Participants are encouraged to continue to train and play for their local Saturday/Sunday league clubs, whilst receiving additional, high quality coaching from The Albion Foundation's coaches.

The charity's PDC pathway has seen a number of academy successes with a positive link with the WBA Academy, including a large number of players moving forward to either sign for WBA or other pro-club academies.
