Simon Carrington, General Counsel/Club Secretary

Albion appointed Simon Carrington as General Counsel/Club Secretary in June 2013 having been initially seconded from the Birmingham office of international law firm Squires Patton Boggs (formerly Squire Sanders), covering the duties of Richard Garlick after his promotion to the post of Sporting & Technical Director.

Simon is a qualified solicitor who has specialist experience in commercial contract matters, branding, data protection and intellectual property as well  as legal employment and corporate issues.

Formerly shortlisted for Birmingham Law Society’s Trainee Solicitor of the Year, he and Garlick have been nominated for Birmingham Law Society’s In-house Legal Team of the Year.

He studied and graduated with honours in Law and Business at the University of Birmingham and completed his LPC Legal Diploma with distinction at the College of Law.

The Club were deeply saddened to confirm the passing of Simon at the age of 34 on Friday, March 15, 2019.

Simon was diagnosed with cancer in September 2018. 
The Club's thoughts remain with his wife Hannah, son Harvey, family and friends.
