Boing FC's trophy treat

Posted on: Wed 12 Aug 2009

BAGGIES supporters' team, Boing FC, will have their Worldnet 2009 winners' trophy presented to them on the pitch at Gigg Lane before tonight's live TV Carling Cup clash between Albion and Bury (ko 7.45pm).

The Shakers fans' veteran side will also collect their prize for winning their section.

Boing FC's B-team beat Fulham 1-0 and fought out goalless draws with Peterborough and Arsenal Nigeria in their group to reach the knockout stages.

On route to the final they cruised past Dunfermline 2-0, Livingstone 4-0, Kidderminster Harriers 2-0 and West Ham 2-0.

A goalless draw with Bradford in the final meant they did not concede a goal in the entire tournament - and Albion held their nerve to win 5-4 on penalties.

It crowns an outstanding season for Boing FC, who also finished as IFA League and Cup runners-up.
