Boing FC riding high
TONY Mowbray's men are not the only Albion side to be hitting the heights.
Baggies supporters' team, Boing FC, pushed Rochdale all the way to finish as Internet Football Association (IFA) League runners-up thanks to an incredible 21 wins in 24 games.
Only a cancelled play-off game against The Dale, who won 18 matches and drew two, cost Boing FC (www.myspace.com/boingfc) the chance to clinch the title.
The league is made up of around 90 teams who organise games through the IFA message list and via email, with the opposition based on who Albion are playing in the Premier League on a certain day or another nearby team.Boing FC's first game next season is against Sheffield United on Saturday, August 9 as the Blades are playing at Blues.
The team, managed by Richard Eades since April 2006, was formed in 1999 and currently play their games at Birchley Sports & Social Club.
Supporters communicate through Boing FC's yahoo group list http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/boingfc.
During the summer Boing FC have won the Merseyside Supporters' Tournament (Tranmere Rovers FC) and Stockfest '08 (Stockport County FC).
They have another tournament in Leeds from Friday, July 18 to Sunday 20 when they will compete in the 72-team Worldnet event.
