Michael Appleton
NO, it's not an interview with legendary singer Tina Turner!
It's our weekly feature in which we get up close and personal with the Albion players and coaching staff to find out who or what tops their charts.
Every Tuesday, you'll be able to read one of the Hawthorns troops' answers to ten probing questions as we delve into their colourful careers and find out what tickles their fancy in their leisure time.
Today, Academy coach and former Manchester United, Preston and Baggies midfielder, Michael Appleton, becomes the first member of the coaching staff to go under the spotlight.
Q1: Simply the best match you've ever played in?
MA: Most people would probably expect me to say my debut for Manchester United. But, atmosphere-wise, it is the first leg of our Championship play-off semi-final against Bolton, at The Hawthorns, in May 2001. I've never known an atmosphere like it in my life, especially as the Rainbow Stand had been demolished. We were two goals up as we entered the 80th minute thanks to strikes from Jason Roberts and Lee Hughes, but then Wanderers scored twice late on.
Q2: Simply the best meal you've eaten?
MA: I love Indian food and my favourite place is a restaurant on the A5 called Café India, which we tend to go to at weekends
Q3: Simply the best player you've played against?
MA: Georgi Kinkladze when he was flying at Manchester City. I was on loan at Grimsby with Craig Shakespeare at the time when we faced him. He was awesome.
Q4: Simply the best holiday destination?
MA: My wife and I love Cyprus. We've been there numerous times and it's fantastic for kids. Plus, they drive on the left-hand side of the road, which is a bonus.
Q5: Simply the best player you've played with?
MA: Eric Cantona. I was lucky enough to play with him on a couple of occasions when I was at United. He was just a genius.
Q6: Simply the best practical joker?
MA: Warren Cummings, who joined us on loan from Chelsea. He's one of the funniest people I've ever met.
Q7: Simply the best book you've read?
MA: Clive Woodward's autobiography. Although he's got a rugby background, it really impressed me.
Q8: Simply the best captain you've played with?
MA: Roy Keane. Certain people have certain opinions of him and he can be awkward and difficult at times. But he was born to be a leader.
Q9: Simply the best match you've ever watched?
MA: It probably wasn't the best game tactically or technically, but I would say the 1999 European Cup Final when Manchster United came from behind late on to beat Bayern Munich 2-1 thanks to goals from Teddy Sheringham and Ole Gunner Solskjaer. I watched it in my local and it was very emotional with me being a big United fan. The pressure and tension was immense.
Q10: Simply the best car you've ever owned?
MA: The Range Rover Sport I own at the moment.
