ALBION are delighted to announce that around 16,000 season tickets have already been snapped up for 2009/10.

The club's early-bird offer, which ended on Friday, has proved a big hit with supporters.

Ticket office staff are currently processing applications from season ticket holders who have renewed but wish to move seats.

However, new applicants can still apply for 2009/10 season tickets.

The Baggies had sold around 19,000 season tickets at the same stage last year as the club clinched the Coca-Cola Championship title.

But this year's sales are well ahead of the number of season tickets that had been sold at the same point in the previous two years.

Finance director Mark Jenkins said: "We're absolutely delighted that so many supporters have already committed themselves to the club for next season.

"The fact we have sold as many as 16,000 season tickets amid the current recession, and while our divisional status next season is still undecided, underlines the loyalty of our fans.

"The sales figures also suggest we fairly priced our season tickets.

"We were very mindful of the credit crunch when we finalised our 2009/10 prices, hence our decision to freeze them on the back of cutting prices by a third over the past two years.

"We want to say a big thank you to all the season ticket holders who have renewed and remind all other supporters they can still apply for a season ticket.

"We are also really pleased that season ticket renewals via Albion Online Ticketing are up by 27 per cent on last season. Albion Online Ticketing is a great service and we're delighted so many fans are using it."

Now that the early-bird deadline has passed, adult season ticket prices for 2009/10 start at £349.

However, the club still have around 200 £49 junior season tickets left, which are available when purchased with a full-paying adult season ticket.

New applicants can apply for a season ticket in person at the East Stand box office or by phone (0871 271 9780. Calls cost 10p per minute from a standard BT landline. Call costs with other operators may vary).
