Relaxed and raring to go
IT'S time to put our bodies on the line!
That's what we'll be doing when we go out to face Barnsley on Sunday.
We need to show a great team spirit and stick together for this all-important game.
We all want to get this club up to the Premiership - where it belongs.
Our main frustration in recent weeks is that we haven't clicked properly as a team in some games.
The next one is a massive one for us but we can't get too uptight about it otherwise we'll lose our focus.
Thankfully, the mood in the camp is relaxed and the lads have been having a laugh and a joke.
We've also been getting our heads down and working hard.
The gaffer has been trying to make us feel relaxed and chilled out, so training has been good.
At the end of the day, football is the game we love.
You should enjoy playing in big pressure matches and the challenge they throw up.
On Sunday, the fans will probably be listening to their radios for other results and biting their nails.
But we can't let that affect us.
We need to perform and I'll be putting myself on the line - as I know my team-mates will as well.
There was a bit of relief when we came away with the three points at Coventry on Saturday.
Sometimes, when you don't play at your best, it is important to come away with something.
We did that.
In some games we've played good football and haven't got anything.
We weren't at our best at Coventry.
In the first half, because they had nothing to play for, they dragged us down to their level a little bit.
Then they had Ben Turner sent-off just before half-time and that galvanised them.
Coventry make it harder for us after the break.
But we clung on and the most important thing was getting the three points to keep us in the play-off places.
It didn't help we again had to reshuffle our defence during the game.
We've had to chop and change at the back a lot this season because of injuries and suspensions and it happened again at the Ricoh Arena, with Sam limping off at half-time.
We've been a bit unlucky in that sense and it was nice to keep a clean sheet for the first time in 13 games.
It was also nice to score and I thought it was only right I ran over to the dugout to celebrate with our kitman, Dave Matthews.
He's always ribbing me about never scoring and he says before every game 'I'm still waiting Robbo'.
It was just a little gesture to go and shake his hand after I'd scored.
Dave's a funny man and a great character, which is why he's been at the club for decades.
Chappy got the rough end of the stick because I nearly scared him to death by shouting at him to get out of my way so I could score.
It was hard to tell the difference between his head and the ball.
I had the same problem on the golf course this week!
But Chappy had the last laugh because he and Clem beat me and Dean Kiely on the 18th hole.
Deano was a good partner but we were robbed because Clem's a bandit!
Hopefully, we'll all be winners on Sunday.
But we know we've got a lot of work to do otherwise those three points at Coventry will count for nothing.
We need to make sure Barnsley do not catch us out as we push for the win.
The fans were fantastic again on Saturday and followed us in big numbers.
They've shown great support for us all season.
Hopefully, they'll turn out in force on Sunday, get right behind us and push us on to get the result we need.
The Irish fancy dress theme at Coventry was very funny and I'm glad the fans got a nice sunny day to enjoy it.
Macca and Deano loved it!
As the team coach got nearer the stadium, we watched all our fans arriving in their ginger wigs and there were a few shouts of 'there's Macca'!
I'm sure that same spirit will serve us well against Barnsley.
