'ROBBO' joined Bolton on a season-long loan, with a view to a permanent deal, in July 2009.
He gave Albion a major boost in August 2008 when he penned a new two-year contract, plus a further year's option in the club's favour.
He produced a series of typically robust performances last term and missed just three games due to injury and a one-game ban. The red card he received in the Baggies' 5-0 home defeat by Manchester United was rescinded by the FA.
His marauding runs down the left flank became a feature of his game under Tony Mowbray and he managed to get on the scoresheet once with the second goal in Albion's 2-0 third-round FA Cup replay victory at Peterborough.
He started the 2007/08 Championship title-winning season by losing the captain's armband to good friend Jonathan Greening and starting on the bench behind Tininho on the opening day at Burnley.
But, true to character, the left-back came storming back to instantly regain his starting place just a game later and the only two other league games he missed all season were due to suspension.
He scored his customary goal against Coventry with the crucial opener in November's 4-0 league win - meaning three of his five career goals for the Baggies have come against the Sky Blues.
The previous campaign saw him skipper the side during Curtis Davies' prolonged absence and bravefully play through the pain barrier during the closing weeks of the term to help the Baggies reach the play-off final, where they lost to Derby.
The no-nonsense left-back signed for the Baggies in October 2003 for an initial £250,000 fee and, after playing a starring role in Albion's 'Great Escape' during 2004/05, his form the following season saw him touted for an England call-up.
A feisty, pugnacious character on the field, he is a strong and committed tackler who also likes to play his part as an attacking force.
The former Under-21 international was a huge success with his hometown and only previous club Watford, for whom he made over 200 appearances.
He clocked up a number of Premier League appearances for the Hornets under the management of Graham Taylor, also playing in the 2003 FA Cup semi-final defeat by Southampton.
Robinson earned a second crack at the top flight by helping Albion win promotion in the 2003/04 season with a string of solid displays, both at left-back and left wing-back.
