Name: Saido Berahino (on loan to Brentford)
Nationality: English
Date of Birth: 04/08/1993
Previous
Clubs:Brentford (loan), Wolves, Northampton
Position: Striker

SAIDO Berahino signed a new two-and-a-half year deal to keep him at the club until June 2014, plus a further year's option in the club's favour, on January 10, 2012

He put pen to paper in the middle of a successful youth loan spell at League Two Northampton, where he had fired five goals in 11 league starts.

Berahino is a regular in the reserves and the closest he has got to first-team action is being on the bench for Albion's Carling Cup clash at Everton in September 2011.

He has been with the club since Under-12s level after escaping war-torn African nation Burundi with his mother, brother and sisters.

They were granted political asylum in Newtown and he became the first player to be signed by the Baggies' then-Centre of Excellence from inner-city kids football team Phoenix United.

The striker has shot up the England ranks and in July 2011 represented them at the Under-20s World Cup in Colombia.

He was also part of England Under-17s' 2010 European Championships-winning squad.

He made his England debut against Scotland to help the Under-16s win the Victory Shield for the eighth successive season.

He also scored three times as Kenny Swain's England side won the prestigious Montaigu tournament in France, in April 2009.
