VERSATILE Chile international Jara joined Albion in a £1.4million deal on August 25, 2009.
The ex-Colo Colo defender signed a three-year contract, plus a further year's option in the club's favour.
The transfer will officially be complete when international clearance has been granted.
Roberto Di Matteo gave the move the green light after the club's scouting system had tracked Jara for the previous 14 months.
The 5ft10in player caught the eye of Albion's head of EU recruitment, Tony Spearing, while playing for Chile Under-23s at the Toulon tournament in 2008.
The Baggies then had him watched in action for Colo Colo, where he played centre-half, and the senior Chile side, for whom he operates at centre-back and full-back, on several occasions. He can also play as a holding midfielder.
