DORRANS committed his future to Albion until 2015 after penning a new four-year-deal, which includes a further year's option in the club's favour, on July 19, 2010.

The Scotland international was rewarded with this third improved contract inside 13 months after playing a pivotal role in helping the Baggies win automatic promotion in the 2009/10 season.

But a stop-start 2010/11 campaign - the highlight of which was a cracker of a first Barclays Premier Leagie goal in a 3-3 draw with West Ham - came to a premature end in March when an ankle problem suffered in training forced him to miss the final ten games.

Dorrans was the subject of three unwelcome and unsuccessful bids from West Ham during summer 2010.

This after he enjoyed a memorable first full season in English football as he won the club's official Player-of-the-Year and Goal-of-the-Season awards (2009/10).

His 18 goals from midfield made him the club's top scorer and he was voted by his peers into the PFA Championship Team of the Year.

Dorrans' achievements were also recognised by supporters up and down the country after he was voted the PFA Fans' Player of the Year in the Coca-Cola Championship.

He established himself in the Albion engine room with tireless box-to-box displays and showed a real eye for goal.

Dorrans represented Scotland at Under-20 and Under-21 levels and his outstanding form during 2009/10 earned him his first three senior international caps.

He was a relative unknown south of the border when he joined Albion from then-Scottish First Division outfit Livingston for a training spell in January 2008.

But he did enough to secure a permanent move and signed for the Baggies in a £150,000 deal the following July.

Dorrans wasn't expected to figure prominently during his first season at the club but broke into the first team during the 2008 festive period before making his full Premier League debut at West Ham the following March.

He joined Scottish First Division outfit Livingston as a 13-year-old.

And, while there, he was named in the 2007/08 PFA Scottish League One XI and was voted PFA League One Player of the Year by his fellow professionals.
