'JOE' pledged his future to Albion in August 2006 by signing a new three-year deal, plus a year's option in the club's favour.
Following the Baggies' relegation from the Premiership in May 2006, Kamara was the subject of considerable interest from clubs abroad.
But Albion spelled out their intention to keep hold of key members of their squad to give themselves the best possible chance of winning promotion, culminating in Kamara penning a new deal.
However, his start to the 2006/07 campaign was delayed by a broken foot suffered in pre-season.
But he returned to action with a bang in September 2006.
Kamara marked his first league appearance of the season, as a half-time sub against Leeds, by inspiring ten-man Albion to a 4-2 win thanks to a two-goal blast.
Kamara never looked back and his six strikes in five games during October 2006 saw him named the Championship's Powerade Player-of-the-Month.
The Senegal international joined Albion from Italian outfit Modena for £1.5million in July 2005.
He made his Baggies debut on the opening day of the 2005/06 campaign at Manchester City, scoring his only Premiership goal of the campaign against the same opposition at The Hawthorns in December. His other goal that term came in September's 4-1 Carling Cup victory over Bradford.
Kamara's Albion fortunes were interrupted midway through the season by his four-week involvement in the African Nations Cup, where the Taranga Lions lost the third/fourth-place play-off to Nigeria.
After enjoying spells at Italian sides Chievo and Catanzaro between 1999 and 2002, the French-born hitman notched 11 Serie A goals in two seasons with Modena after helping them win promotion in 2002.
Kamara spent the 2004/05 season at Portsmouth, firing six goals in 19 starts, before returning to Modena.| Competition | Apps (as sub) |
