Harts to miss Palace visit

John Hartson
SIDELINED...Striker Hartson will miss Palace visit

JOHN Hartson will be forced to sit out tomorrow's (Wednesday) clash with Crystal Palace (ko 7.45pm) with a knee problem.

The ex-Celtic striker, who has not been involved in the last four games, is Albion's only injury worry ahead of the Hawthorns encounter.

But Nathan Ellington will again be missing as he serves the third match of his three-game ban for his FA Cup red card against Middlesbrough.

Assistant manager Mark Venus insists Hartson still has a part to play this term.

"You can never write off a player of John's pedigree," he said.

"He's had a career most people would die for.

"At this moment, he's got a knee injury and is unavailable for tomorrow's game.

"We'll reassess it after that to see if he's okay for Sunday.

"Obviously, once he's recovered from the injury, he'll need to get back on the training ground."
