PARTY TIME...AJ celebrates Albion's promotion in 2004 |
ANDY Johnson brought the curtain down on his Albion career this week by insisting: "It's been a rollercoaster ride."
The 32-year-old midfielder experienced five eventful years at The Hawthorns, suffering two relegations, two promotions and playing his part in the 'Great Escape'.
But he claims he has enjoyed every minute of it and has thanked Baggies fans for their unstinting support.
"It's been a rollercoaster ride - getting promoted, getting relegated or hanging on the edge of a cliff," said Johnson.
"But it's been good and the fans have been on that ride with me.
"They have always been really good to me. I've had a great relationship with them.
"They're a great bunch of supporters and I've really enjoyed it."
The former Wales international intends to keep on playing and revealed he has a few irons in the fire.
"I've no idea what is next for me," he added.
"I've got a few options and my agent is getting things together.
"I'll sit down and work out what it is I want to do.
"At the moment, I'm enjoying my football and I think I've got a lot of years left in me."
Johnson quipped: "I'll probably carry on playing until they drag me off in a coffin!"
