Youths end with draw
ALBION'S Academy side today (Wednesday) rounded off their season with a 1-1 draw against Manchester City at The Hawthorns.
Stuart Nicholson put the Baggies ahead on the hour mark but City levelled ten minutes later.
Coach Craig Shakespeare said: "It was a fairly even game played in warm conditions but both teams enjoyed playing on a bigger pitch.
"It was played in a good spirit and was an end-to-end game with few chances for either side.
"The lads suffered a bit from tired legs in the second half but Stuart did well to score from an acute angle on the left-hand edge of the box.
"Adrian Manchester also put in a good performance at centre-half.
"We just couldn't hold on but in the end it was probably a fair result.
"It was a decent end to the season and the lads can be pleased about their first year in an Academy league."
