Mozza helps send Scots top

Posted on: Wed 08 Sep 2010

JAMES Morrison came on as a half-time substitute to help Scotland overturn a deficit in a last-gasp 2-1 win over Liechtenstein in their Euro 2012 qualifier.

The 24-year-old midfielder, who is banned for the Baggies' next three games due to his Anfield red card, replaced Blues' James McFadden and made an impact on the left side in the Hapden Park encounter, with Kenny Miller and Stephen McManus scoring the goals.

Graham Dorrans was not involved as the Scots went to the top of Group I, above Lithuania on goal difference after two games.

In the same group Roman Bednar came on as an 83rd-minute substitute for the fourth-placed Czech Republic in their surprise 1-0 home defeat by Lithuania.

Gabriel Tamas played 90 minutes as Romania fought out a goalless draw with Belarus to leave them fifth on two points in Group D.

On Sunday Peter Odemwingie started for Nigeria as they beat Madagascar 2-0 in a Group B African Nations Cup qualifier at the Calabar Stadium.
