Leyton Orient v Albion - team news

Posted on: Wed 25 Aug 2010

SAM Mantom makes his senior debut for the club as Roberto Di Matteo names a completely different XI to the one that beat Sunderland 1-0 in the Barclays Premier League on Saturday.

The 18-year-old Albion Academy product starts in central midfield for the Carling Cup second-round clash.

Boaz Myhill makes his competitive debut in goal and Nicky Shorey, back at his former club for the first time, is handed his full Baggies bow after coming on as a late substitute at the weekend.

Steven Reid is handed the captain's armband for the night.

The only survivors from the original line-up against the Black Cats are on the bench, while James Morrison, Chris Brunt, Youssouf Mulumbu and Gabriel Tamas are left out altogether, and Jerome Thomas (ankle) is injured.

Russell Slade makes three changes to the Orient team that drew 1-1 at Southampton on Saturday as Dean Cox, Alex Revell and Matthew Spring are relegated to the bench and Scott McGleish, Jonathan Tehoue and Jimmy Smith come in.

Former Baggie Adam Chambers also lines up for the hosts.
