Thomas 'touch and go' for Reds clash

Posted on: Mon 23 Aug 2010

JEROME Thomas has been ruled out of tomorrow's Carling Cup clash at Leyton Orient (ko 7.45pm) - and is a doubt for Sunday's Barclays Premier League trip to Liverpool (ko 3pm).

Abdoulaye Meite has also added to Roberto Di Matteo's injury woes by picking up a groin problem that will keep him out of the Brisbane Road encounter.

Thomas was forced off at half-time during Saturday's 1-0 win over Sunderland with a twisted ankle and was replaced at by Giles Barnes.

"Jerome will not be available tomorrow night and is touch and go for Sunday," said Di Matteo.
