JEROME Thomas is delighted Albion have rewarded him with a new-and-improved deal - and has thanked the club for helping get his career back on track.
The Baggies winger has been handed a one-year extension - keeping him at the club until June 2012 - plus a further year's option in the club's favour.
Thomas moved to The Hawthorns as a Bosman signing last summer following an injury-hit season with Portsmouth.
And he overcame his back problems to score seven goals in 27 league appearances, including five as a substitute, as Albion clinched promotion.
"I'm really happy," said the 27-year-old ace.
"I had a good season last year and I've been rewarded for that.
"When I injured my back and missed a season at Portsmouth, it was a reality check on how quickly it can all go.
"So, I worked extra hard last season and it's paid off.
"I feel I put a lot of good performances in last season.
"The club know my injury is not an issue now.
"I've come back in early for pre-season training to do my strengthening work and I feel good.
"My job is to set up goals and score goals.
"If I'm not doing that I'm not doing my job.
"I think I was consistently a threat last season and I'm glad the club have recognised that and rewarded me with a new deal."
The former Charlton ace is now fully focused on establishing the Baggies in the Barclays Premier League.
"Since I've come here everything has just fallen into place," Thomas added.
"The club is organised, it is family orientated and I get on well with everyone.
"All the players work well with the coaching staff.
"Because they played not long ago, it is easy to talk to them.
"My only aim now is to establish West Brom as a Premier League team.
"This is where the real work starts and I hope by performing on the pitch these new contracts keep coming."
