SIMON Cox insists his promotion-clinching medal with Albion will take pride of place over the Coca-Cola Championship title-winning medal he won with Reading four seasons ago.
A teenage Cox made only two substitute appearances for the Royals during their 2005/06 success before being loaned out to Brentford and Northampton the following season.
But his impact this term has seen him net nine times in the league for the Baggies - including a last-gasp equaliser in the 2-2 draw with QPR at The Hawthorns and a crucial winner in the 1-0 victory at Plymouth.
And he is delighted to have made such a big contribution to helping the club bounce straight back to the Barclays Premier League following his £1.9million summer move from Swindon.
"Although I got a medal at Reading when they got promoted, I probably didn't deserve it," said Cox.
"It's still in the trophy cabinet at home and I still look at it and feel proud, but with this one I've played a significant amount of games for and contributed to the team so it means a lot more to me.
"I'm pretty pleased with the way I've done this year, and hopefully there's more to come next season.
"I'll go away, enjoy my summer and try to hit the ground running in pre-season when I come back and hopefully make an impression."
The Reading-born hitman, who celebrates his 23rd birthday in a fortnight, admits the fact he will be playing top-flight football for the first time next season has not yet sunk in.
"It will all sink in next year on the first game of the season, but I'm going to enjoy the time because it's pretty new to me," he added.
"I'm going to make sure I enjoy every single minute of it.
"I've played a part in a very successful team, which is what I came to West Brom for.
"The club had great ambition to get back up into the Premier League, bought players to do so, and had quality players already there - and we've achieved our goal for the season."
