GRAHAM Dorrans has set his sights on catching Coca-Cola Championship leaders Newcastle following Saturday's 'adrenalin-fuelled' 3-2 win over Preston.
The 22-year-old's wonder strike separated the teams at half time after the Baggies twice let two-goal leads slip.
And he admitted Roberto Di Matteo's men had to call on all their energy reserves after the break to see out their fourth win in 11 days at the tail end of a gruelling fixture schedule.
The Baggies are now just two points behind the Toon, who have a game in hand, and remain eight points ahead of third-placed Nottingham Forest.
"I think we've passed the stage of feeling tired," said Dorrans.
"The legs have just gone.
"We've had two games a week for some time. But it's nice to play.
"Adrenalin keeps us going.
"It's about three points every time we play now and we just want to catch Newcastle."
The Scotland international took his goals tally to 16 for the season as he picked out the top corner of the net with his 30-yard free-kick.
But his main concern now is helping his team-mates cut out the sloppy goals Albion conceded at the other end against North End as they prepare to host Coventry on Wednesday (ko 7.45pm).
"It was a good game," Dorrans added.
"We played with more freedom.
"I thought we were in control but gave away a couple of goals and they got back into it, which was disappointing.
"It wasn't a bad free-kick!
"Brunty's taken a few because he has a great left-foot but we had a discussion before the free-kick as I thought the keeper was sneaking over a little bit.
"We were in control at 2-0 and conceded a sloppy goal.
"At 3-1 we were in control and, again, conceded a sloppy goal.
"It was disappointing in that sense.
"The gaffer said he was disappointed with the goals we conceded."
