GRAHAM Dorrans has revealed his penalty prowess is something that runs in the family.
The Baggies ace admits he has never been a nominated spot-kick taker before this season.
But, since relieving Chris Brunt of the duty back in October he has tucked home eight out of ten penalties, to follow in the footsteps of older brother Andrew, who plays Scottish non-league football.
"There is no secret," said Dorrans.
"I haven't really taken penalties before this season.
"It's about confidence and if you're confident when you step up to take it you'll put it away.
"My brother always took penalties so he has been on the phone to me.
"He has only missed one in junior football back up the road.
"He hasn't said anything but he phoned me the other day and said it was a good penalty against Swansea.
"I don't practice penalties.
"It's just something that comes naturally.
"From 12 yards out you just have to hit the target."
The unflappable Scot was not even put off by mind games from the opposition at the Liberty Stadium on Tuesday as he stroked home the Baggies' decisive 79th-penalty opener in their vital 2-0 win over the Swans.
And even Albion's goalkeepers, Scott Carson and Dean Kiely, have given him the thumbs up over his placement and technique when it comes to spot-kicks.
"On Tuesday a few of their boys tried to get into my head and said I was going to miss, but that's all it was," Dorrans added.
"I have spoken to Deano and Scott and they said if I take the penalties the way I took the one the other day the keeper still isn't going to get there even if he goes the right way, because it was right in the corner."
