ROBERTO Di Matteo claimed it was mission accomplished as Albion made it maximum points from back-to-back home games inside four days with a 3-2 win over play-off hopefuls Blackpool.
Ishmael Miller's 13th-minute strike on his first start in 15 months cancelled out Charlie Adam's opener six minutes earlier.
Robert Koren's second thunderbolt in a week fired Albion in front eight minutes after the break before substitute Brett Ormerod levelled in the 72nd minute.
But there was a welcome does of déjà vu as Graham Dorrans, a month on from his late penalty winner in a five-goal thriller at Bloomfield Road, repeated the feat 12 minutes from time at The Hawthorns.
It was second-placed Albion's fifth successive league win on home soil and, with ten matches remaining, the Baggies are now five points clear of nearest rivals Nottingham Forest, who lost 3-2 at Preston, and four points behind leaders Newcastle, who have a game in hand.
"It doesn't matter where we get the points from to be quite honest, whether it's at home or away," said Di Matteo.
"Starting this week, we looked at the fixture list and saw we had seven games out of 12 at home, which we knew the importance of.
"I'm very pleased we've managed to win the first two at home.
"We're in a good position but there are so many games still to play.
"As you could see today, every game is tough to win.
"Blackpool played some excellent football and made it very difficult for us.
"Also, this was our third game in seven days, while Blackpool didn't play in midweek, and I think that showed in the final ten minutes.
"
Dorrans struck from the penalty spot for the seventh time this term and Di Matteo was delighted to see what he thought was a definite foul by Joe Martin on substitute Giles Barnes get punished.
"From where I was standing, it was difficult to see but the referee seemed sure and gave the penalty straight away," he added.
"I'm quite happy with his decision.
"It was definitely a foul.
"Dozza's quite a composed, cool person when it comes to taking penalties.
"The best players in the world miss penalties and I'm pleased he scored today."
