ALBION Under-18s extended their unbeaten run to four games in a 2-2 draw with title-chasing Everton on Saturday.
The Toffees opened the scoring in the FA Premier Academy League (Group C) encounter and Kayleden Brown missed the chance to level when he saw his penalty saved.
Ashley Lovell spared his team-mate's blushes when he equalised before the break and Lateef Elford-Alliyu fired Albion ahead from an Ethan Mannion cross in the second half.
But the Blues pounced on a poor clearance nine minutes from time to pinch a point.
Baggies coach Keith Downing said: "We made a slow start and Everton took the lead when we didn't clear the ball properly.
"We got ourselves back in the game and earned a penalty, which Kayleden Brown saw saved by the keeper to his left.
"I was a little bit disappointed with our attacking exploits.
"We never really got hold of the ball up front and we never had a platform to play from.
"Everton had the majority of play and we scored our second slightly against the run of play.
"They piled the pressure on and levelled nine minutes from time from a ball that wasn't cleared out of the box.
"Overall, we had a bit of a patched up side due to one or two injuries.
"The back-four was makeshift and they did pretty well.
"On reflection, 2-2 is a good result and I was pleased to get a point against a team trying to win the league."
