Bednar a doubt for QPR trip

Posted on: Fri 05 Mar 2010

ROMAN Bednar is a major doubt for Saturday's trip to QPR (ko 3pm) - but Roberto Di Matteo has confirmed Ishmael Miller and Giles Barnes are in contention for the Loftus Road clash.

Bednar is still recovering from the groin problem he picked up in Albion's FA Cup replay with Reading nine days ago.

Barnes played all of the Baggies' goalless reserves draw at Walsall on Tuesday night as he stepped up his comeback from long-term injury.

And Miller got 70 minutes under his belt against the Saddlers on his return from a month on the sidelines with a damaged ankle.

Meanwhile, Di Matteo has given his returning internationals a clean bill of health.

"All the internationals will be reporting back tomorrow morning for training," said the Hawthorns boss.

"Some are back already and some are not depending on where they've travelled from.

"Everyone seems to have come through the games fine.

"Roman Bednar is still injured and is doubtful for Saturday.

"Miller and Barnes played in the reserves on Tuesday night and both are in contention for Saturday.

"It's good news."
